PREPARING TO GO

As an organisation we take time to provide team members with the training and tools that they will need to get the most out of each trip. During this time each team member will learn more about themselves, get support in preparing to serve the team and those they meet in country.  They will also receive advise on how to stay healthy physically, mentally and spiritually as they go and come back from the trip.

HOW DO WE PROVIDE TRAINING AND SUPPORT?

The main ways we do this are through the:

DO I HAVE TO GO TO BOTH TRAINING WEEKENDS?

We believe the toolbox training is an essential part of your preparation for mission, therefore both training weekends are mandatory.  When you apply for a team, we’ll let you know the dates for your training weekends.

Through these training weekends team members learn more about themselves and others through our specially developed activities and teaching sessions.  Whether it is your first mission experience or you have been many times before, you will discover that God uses these toolbox weekends to reveal to you something more of himself, and his purposes in this world.

I’VE BEEN ON A BTBAB TEAM BEFORE, DO I HAVE TO DO THE TOOLBOX TRAINING AGAIN?

Each team that goes out into the developing world has a unique mix of people, bringing a unique mix of gifts and skills.  That’s why it is important to do the toolbox training for every team you go on.   Over the course of the two weekends you will get to know your team mates, you will learn from their experience, and they from you. The toolbox training is continually changing, so each time you do it, you are guaranteed to discover something new.
