When life’s experiences take you through seasons of hardship, we strive and strain to survive each day. When you know that God’s promises are over our lives; about not being anxious, remembering that He has given us a spirit of power, love and sound mind and we are encouraged to rejoice in our day. When His Word reminds us that we are the head and not the tail when we are obedient to His commands. That God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. It is so easy for us to look at our daily lives and feel we are not hitting these marks. There are days and periods when we truly know that God’s promises are alive and working over our lives and yet at other times we feel we are out of step in our walk with God.
‘I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’
What encourages me from Paul’s words in Philippians 3:14 (NIV), is that we have not reached our destination, each of us is on a journey, ordained by the Lord. We will have our good days and bad days. He has not left us to our own devices and despite what we may face each day, our eyes need to be firmly fixed on Jesus, our Saviour, who is seated on the right hand side of God. He has left the Holy Spirit with us to guide and direct us daily in our walk. So as Paul pressed on towards his goal, pursuing after and earnestly following, not letting life’s hardships hinder him. So, I encourage each one of us to persevere, not in our own strength, but knowing Jesus and the Holy Spirit are guiding and directly our daily steps. It will not always be easy, SO DO NOT GIVE UP.
