SHORT TERM MISSION

Going is one of the central values within the Christian faith – we see it modelled in the life of Jesus, as he travelled around meeting those who needed to hear his message of God’s love. He met people who were rejected, broken, sick, cheaters, and sex workers – to all of them he brought hope, healing and restoration. God’s heart has always been for those that don’t know him and those that are broken, outcast and poor.

So as we follow Jesus’ teachings to go to those around us, we too encounter God in a very profound way and experience his heartbeat for the poor.

2 WEEK TEAMS

Blessed to be a Blessing provides Christians with the opportunity to go on short term mission trips for up to 2 weeks. As part of a team you will go to the developing world and serve alongside the poor using the skills that God has placed in your hands.

Before going, every team member will take part in our Toolbox training where you learn more about the skills God has given you and how you can use them to practically serve others. We believe that mission is all about ordinary people doing extraordinary things in God.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES SHORT TERM MISSION MAKE?

As we honour Jesus’s teachings to go, leaving behind our comfortable lives, we encounter something amazing.

It is one of the mysteries of God’s ways – that as we serve those that we meet, giving of our energy, time and emotion – we receive more of God in us. We are truly “Blessed to be a Blessing”.

We may not be able to change the world, but as we go we encounter God and we are changed by it. In the process, others will also encounter the God we have met so we begin to see God change the world through us……one life at a time.
