TOOLBOX TRAINING

Each team member participates in the Toolbox training course which aims to prepare teams to go on short term mission. Our tag line, “preparing ordinary people to do extraordinary things in God” really does sum up the experience our team members have.

The course consists of 3 modules with approximately 8 sessions, typically delivered over 2 weekends, although this can be adapted to suit the needs of the team. We can also deliver this training for other church groups who want to prepare their own teams for overseas short term mission. If this is of interest please get in touch (toolbox@btbab.org).

WHATS INCLUDED?

Each training session lasts 2-4 hours and includes the following 4 elements:

  • Prayer & worship
  • Teaching
  • Practical workshops*
  • Team preparations

The Toolbox teaching sessions cover topics such as:

  • Why missions?
  • What are the key ingredients for a mission
  • Understanding who we are and how to relate to others
  • Identity (spiritual and natural)
  • Gifts & calling
  • Conflict resolution
  • Cross cultural basics
  • Staying healthy (physically, mentally and spiritually) at home and abroad
  • Team roles
  • Preparing to go

*The Practical training workshops are tailored to the team’s needs and are typically covered in the second training weekend.  These may include children’s work, drama & dance; communicating your faith; and returning home from missions.

TRAINING FOR DISCIPLESHIP

At BTBAB, our primary focus is to grow people (not an organisation). This way God can grow the organisation through people who are growing in themselves. Our partner organisation Water From the Rock regularly train our co-ordinators through their Disciplers Workshop and is an excellent tool for the body of Christ.
