On 27th April we held the ABM 2024 in our interim base in Liverpool. The meeting was a combination of ‘in person’ and zoom and it was great to see everyone joining at various times of the day.

The day began with worship and a devotion by Esther Price followed by Yvonne Twum-Barima, the chairperson of the Board of Trustees, reviewing the minutes of last year’s meeting. The minutes were formally accepted by Shirley Cooper and seconded by Cathy Miller. Next, we went through the financial report for the year 2023-2024 – this will be available to anyone who would like to see it. Julie Esseku our treasurer and Shirley Cooper Trustee responsible for growing people formally accepted the report. It is good to see how God has provided for all the different areas of BTBAB and we are so grateful for His provision. Then each department gave a report:

  • Toolbox and OCT by Tina Falvey
  • Liverpool and Website by Esther Price
  • Pastoral Care, Kids Playdate and Safeguarding policy by Cathy Miller
  • ACI by Jenny McCurry

Over the last couple of years Esther Price has held the position of probationary National Director of the UK. It was our privilege during the ABM to pray for her and acknowledge her formally as UK National Director. Femi Oni, our Patron, Yvonne Twum-Barima and Shirley Cooper prayed for Esther as she enters this new season. We will be publicly praying for her at the BTBAB retreat which will be held on the weekend of the 16th – 18th August please see the website for more information: https://www.btbab.org/btbab-retreat/

After lunch Esther went over the comprehensive five-year strategic plan and reflected on our progress towards the goals outlined in the document. Notwithstanding the efforts made, there remains much work ahead. We continue to pray that God will be the One who breaks out for us.

Esther and Shirley then reviewed the budget plan for the fiscal year 2024-2025, outlining their hopes for the upcoming months. Following this, we concluded the ABM with a time of communion and reflection on what God has done for us. Later in the evening the operational team met to look at forward planning for the coming year. As these ideas become more formal we keep you informed of our progress.
