About Us
History
“Blessed To Be A Blessing”, otherwise known as BTBAB, was established in 1997 as a practical response to the needs of the poor & neglected in the developing world. The work began initially when Femi Oni, its founder, went to Lithuania as part of a medical team with the world’s largest hospital ship.
But by 1999, it quickly became clear that BTBAB was not to be built around one man. Instead it has become a non-profit inter-denominational Christian organization expressing God’s love in a practical way in the developing world.
To date, we have been privileged to work with churches & other Non-Government Organizations (NGO’s) in over 20 different countries around the world, providing over £10,000 to some of the most isolated and forgotten people of our world. Our teams have consisted of doctors, nurses, carpenters, construction workers, teachers and more, all working in different capacities among the poor as well as Aids orphans in nations such as Mozambique, Philippines, Lithuania and many others.
We have recently compiled a 10-year report of BTBAB and it is available to our partners free of charge (and to others, at a small fee). For a copy, email
Our Vision
At BTBAB, we believe that the bible is the full authoritative Word of God and that Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection is the only way people can be reconciled with God.
We find that Mathew 10:8 is one scripture that expresses the heart of our vision i.e. freely we have received; freely we give. We do this in the following ways:
- Express God’s compassion to poor & needy in practical ways (e.g. healthcare, schools work, children’s work, educational projects, building projects, etc.)
- Mobilise the church to be mission focused by setting up initiatives that encourages them to send out teams onto the mission field
- Help to build a bridge between the Church and missionaries on the field through initiatives that actively supports them and the work they do

How do we operate?
We serve in 3 main areas: Missions; Training and Education. For more information, please click on ‘Ministries’ and view details under any of these 3 areas.
The ministry is run by a 6-member team consisting of 3 executive people supported by 3-operational team leaders. We are also blessed with an advisory committee consisting of church leaders and other Christian leaders experienced in missions. We meet, along with our partners, once a year for a time of fellowship, prayer and strategic planning.
BTBAB is a faith-based ministry. This means that we are dependent on God through prayer & generous gifts of friends & partners around the world. In addition, we publish a quarterly newsletter annually highlighting our work and how others can get involved.
