Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2

There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:

A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap (The Message Version)

In this last season God has been revealing to me some spiritual seedlings from the last 2 and a half years that I have lived and worked in Liverpool.  This particularly came to light recently when a local pastor asked me for some advice in relation to a Yemeni believer seeking asylum seeker that was being relocated to the city.  Thanks to the networks I have developed over the last 2 years I was able to link him up with the pastor of the Arabic church as well as some different support groups locally.  Now whilst I know that this may seem insignificant to some, this contact opened up a door of opportunity with the Arabic church.  I was invited to a meeting about an Al Massira course they were planning to begin in Toxteth with other Christian workers in the area (Homepage – Al Massira)  As I walked into the meeting I realised that I knew most of the workers having met them before!  The course, which is designed to share the gospel to Muslims, is beginning on 23rd April and I will be helping them to facilitate this in a practical nature.  My Arabic isn’t quite up to scratch just yet!!

Working as a full time missionary living by faith has had its financial challenges for me recently.  And even though I have been offered a part time job, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I need to be available for the kingdom of God and this situation just highlights it more.  I am continuing to stand in faith and God is opening up new ways of provision for me. He will continue to be faithful.

As well as the Al Massira course, I have also started to serve in a new initiative for the youth in the north of the city.  A friend of mine from the MCYC youth camp has begun a new drop in centre for school kids aged 11 – 16 and since 23rd January I have been going to the West Derby Neighbourhood Church every Thursday to help pioneer this.  We have a group of 3 girls that consistently come into the church to play games, do some craft and hang out, and in the meantime we serve them free hot chocolate and cake at the gates to invite them in.  My hope is that in the future I will be able to run another Life Skills course to school leavers but this only comes about through the building of relationships.  Thank God for the new doors He is opening up!
