The summer season has been quite busy for me as I have been travelling across the four nations of the UK doing ministry!
On 21st June we held the first of our Awareness Days at City Church in Liverpool. We had a few people attend and learn more about our work. This was followed up by an Awareness Day on 31st August in Kilmarnock, Scotland where the mission team met Jenny McCurry the BTBAB administrator and Alan Leyden who are members of the church and have been on many trips with BTBAB.
In July I went to the Merseyside Christian Youth Camp (MCYC) in North Wales for one week at the end of July. The camp consisted of 60 young adults aged 18 – 21 from churches in Merseyside and Cheshire. We saw God move in powerful ways in the lives of these young people.
At the end of August I led a team of 3 on the last UK outreach to Northern Ireland and Scotland. I was very blessed this time to have two young people on the team from Ethiopia and Nigeria. It’s been a desire of mine for some time to have internationals ministering here in the UK. As you will read from the article, the team did a wonderful job.
In between my travels, I spent one day a week doing mentorship with a teenager from Liverpool. Our partner organisation Water From the Rock asked me to spend some time with her on her return from an internship at their base (The Rock House) and to do some mentorship with her over the summer. It was a good learning curve and she is now settled back in Liverpool.
So I didn’t see an awful lot of Liverpool during the summer, but it was a very positive and busy season!
