We believe every person adds something unique to our mission, our hope is that you’ll be encouraged as you read Jane’s story.
What inspired you to get involved with BTBAB?
At first it was my friendship with Esther and then I was interested in finding out more about BTBAB by going to the Open day. I felt it was a very worthy cause. Our house group supported Esther in prayer. Then after I had my hips done, I wanted to do something in gratitude to God and so I signed up to go on my first mission trip with BTBAB.
How do you see your personal values aligning with BTBAB’s mission?
I have a strong Christian faith and we’re called to go and make disciples in the whole world; to be caring and loving. I realised that God has given the gift of encouragement and a heart for people. So following prayer, I had peace and just felt that it was the right step.
How does your faith influence the way you serve others?
I feel that it’s cool to be part of a body where we all have a part to play. Esther thinks I’m a bit of an evangelist because I talk about Jesus a lot and display Jesus in the way I live. I love people and they seem to gather towards me. God filled me with joy and it just bubbles out. God prepares you for what you meant to do. It’s just incredible the way in which he works in our lives.
What impact would you love to see BTBAB make in the next few years?
I’d love to see it grow. I feel that the base is in the right place. As a friend of BTBAB, I really want to support and encourage the team and Esther. I would love to see younger people getting involved and becoming passionate about missions and to see the next generation growing in their faith and in BTBAB.
