Since childhood, I dreamed of traveling the world, often bringing my hopes and aspirations before God in prayer. Over the years, listening to missionaries share their experiences ignited a deep passion within me—a longing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Opportunities didn’t come in my younger years, whether because I overlooked them or the timing wasn’t right. Then, one day, I heard a BTBAB team speak about their incredible short-term mission trip—the impact they had, the lives they touched. As I listened, something stirred in me, reminding me of the dream I once held.
Even though I was making a difference on a local level , I knew this was where God wanted me. Then one day, I was invited to go on a short-term mission trip—marking the beginning of a journey rooted in a young girl’s dream to impact the world.
Overseas Community Transformation (OCT) is God’s people in action, bringing lasting change to communities in the developing world. My prayerful dream is for God to open doors, bless these projects, and transform lives both spiritually and physically. My vision is for OCT to be established in nations, strengthening communities through relationships founded in the Kingdom.
The powerful passage from Ephesians 4:15-16, emphasises growth in Christ and the strength of unity through love and service. It beautifully reflects the heart of spiritual maturity and the interconnectedness of the body of Christ.
There are two OCT projects that I am upholding in prayer; one is the community of Moana in Malawi which will impact the whole community; second is the project which will support the young people in the village of Wonjie Showa in Ethiopia.
OCT embodies God’s word in action, speaking His truth so that those we impact will recognize His purpose in sending us—not for our greatness, but for His glory to be known.
Jeremiah 31:33
“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it in their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
