4 years ago God clearly spoke to us that there was an ACI student in a far east Asian country. For security reasons we cannot reveal the exact country. A team went out to the nation in 2014 and 2015 but did not find the individual. However in 2016 a team went out with Maria – one of our trustees. The Lord had shown her that there were two students that needed to be part of ACI, and He was so gracious, as we found both students! One has now finished their training being fully supported by BTBAB and we are currently supporting another one until she finishes her degree.
Suzanne is coming to the end of her final year of medical training. Below she explains in her own words, why she wanted to become a doctor.
“When I was a little girl, I witnessed many poor people who didn’t have enough money to pay for medical-care and hospital fees. Many of them died because of disease. At that time, I said to myself that: “I will become a good doctor so I can help them and they can have something better…” In addition, I think that a doctor is a good job so that I can tell people about God’s Good News and through me more and more people will meet Jesus. I knew that it wouldn’t be easy to become a Doctor. I needed a high score from high school, that I would have to work hard to get good results, it is expensive to do the course and it would take up to 6 years (the university training time in *** is usually about 3 – 4 years). But I believe strongly that God has a good plan for me and He wants me to serve Him through my life. So, I have tried my best to learn and study hard so that I can pass my exams and be a good student. My studies are very hard so I don’t have a lot of free time to do a part –time work, and all my fees for living, travelling, are supported by my parents. To continue my studies they have to borrow money from Government and £1,410.85. It is really hard and a great pressure on my family. So I really need your help to continue my study and become the doctor I dream of”.
We are pleased to share that after 5 years of hard work at her studies Suzanne has graduated from university in December 2020. Sadly, due to Covid-19, we were not able to travel to be part of the celebrations. She has since found work as an ultrasound diagnosis doctor in a major hospital in the capital city.
For security reasons we have not disclosed the recipient’s real name.
