While in India during my own short-term mission trip with BTBAB back in June 2018, I felt a nudging from God on how I could bless and serve future teams, without necessarily being there myself. During my time there I learnt many things from my other team mates and also came up with my own intuitive ideas which helped in simple ways…like using a ball of string to fashion a pulley system to pass our gate keys between floors without needing to open up all the gates (weirdly specific I know). Or having specific scripture or worship songs ready for certain situations.

I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great to pass all this information on to future teams and possibly get previous teams to contribute. There is a wealth of wisdom and advice from many past and present people that could be shared and passed on to future teams that could potentially be lost.

From these thoughts (on hot day in June 2018 on the roof of a YWAM base in Dharmapuri India), the Toolbox Training site idea was formed and last year we finalised the website which can now be used for our teams during the training phase before leaving on our short-term mission trips. It was used by our Malawi team last year to great success.

Aside from including our training manual in a digital format, the site also includes many different types of resources. From ministry advice, helpful prayers to helpful practical tips provided by real people who have been on real mission trips.
