I was called back to missions as far back as 1993! So in 1994 I started a Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). After serving at the base as a staff member for 2 years in Nuneaton the Lord God clearly directed me to go back to my home of Hereford, which I was not too pleased about!
Following this I went through a long period of great oppression in my life, and my mission calling died. Then in 2013 everything changed, and I was set free. As I had stepped back from all commitments in the church, I started to reconsider my future and what the Lord had for me to do. A friend invited me on a mission trip with BTBAB and in the summer of 2014 I went to Peru. That whole experience was life transforming for me and I never went back. I went on a further 4 trips with BTBAB to Vietnam, Peru for a second time, Thailand and then India.
After each trip it was harder and harder to come back home and in November 17 when I went to Thailand, the adjustment was even harder. I longed to serve for longer than 2 weeks. Whilst I was in Thailand, I felt that the Holy Spirit downloaded a love for the nation and as I left I felt a sense of grief. After 6 weeks this feeling hadn’t shifted so I started to explore possibilities to serve in the mission field long term. As I was familiar with the DNA of BTBAB, and I felt like they were family, I contacted Femi to look for an opportunity to be sent out by them. And as the Lord had clearly told me that I would be going to many nations, I felt that I needed a UK sending organisation. So, in July 18 I left my full-time job and moved to the BTBAB base to train for 6-12 months before being sent out to the first nation that I feel called to.
