In 2011 a BTBAB Team that went to the Amazon in Brazil was able to donate more than £4,000 to build a community centre for the indigenous tribes in Labrea.
The vision for the centre was to provide a place where tribal people who were at risk of being marginalised and discriminated against, could come together, learn basic literacy and technical skills as well as maintain and celebrate the redemptive aspects of their culture.
By having a place to meet also helped alleviate the social problems that may otherwise have arisen due to lack of identity, real value and inclusion in society.
