Sawatdi-ka! (Hello!) So, the countdown has started, there are only 7 days until I leave for Thailand on 4th March.  I am steadily ticking off the ‘to do’ lists and preparing for this epic journey into the unknown.

To give you some background, this journey started many years ago when I was called to ‘go to the nations’ in 1993!  I served with YWAM from 94 – 97 on their Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) and when seeking the Lord for my future he said, ‘Go back to Hereford’, which I was not best pleased about!

A lot happened in the interim years, which caused my mission calling to die, but in 2014 it was restored back to me.  After travelling to many countries on short term mission trips – Peru x2, Vietnam and India – I visited Thailand in November 2017.  This trip was instrumental in ‘stealing the deal’ for desiring to go into full time missions.  A deep stirring and desire to ‘go’ caused me to leave my job in July 2018 and move to Evesham for the next stage of my journey, training..!

So, I am leaving on this advance trip, knowing that this is the first of many countries that God will send me to.  My first stop after flying into Bangkok is the north of the country, where a team of 3 other ladies will be joining me to work with a church in the rural villages for two weeks.  After they leave me on 17th March, I have a further 3 weeks to explore the country, visit ministries and fact find, so that I know what to prepare for when I live in the country.

For now, I will enjoy the fact that mosquitos haven’t ravaged my body (as they have a tendency to do) and I am not swooning in the heat and humidity.

“... in July 18 I left my full-time job and moved to the BTBAB base to train for 6-12 months before being sent out to the first nation that I feel called to. ”
