More and more I am convinced that young people need help to prepare them for their future. It is a daunting world if you are not prepared for what’s going to hit you in adult life. Some of us may remember moaning to our parents that we don’t have any freedom, and that when we grow up, we can do whatever we like! But as we all know, the reality of adult life is quite different from what we imagined as a child – you have more responsibility and more challenges! Working, paying your way for the first time, learning to cook for yourself, clean your living space… the list is endless. Many of us have had families that prepare us for this life, but more and more – through meeting different young people – I realise that many young people don’t have this preparation for life for a variety of reasons.
You may know of a young person that is struggling and needs a helping hand with ‘doing life’ or has a passion for the nations and wants to be trained and prepared for international work. Or it could be that you have a heart for young people and would like to give some money towards our Sponsorship Award.
