In the last 12 months we have seen one team going to Southeast Asia and another go to Malawi in Africa. It can be quite a challenge to raise teams, to train them and then send them out. I have often thought it’s easier just to go myself, however I think that would be missing the whole point of why do short term missions. I believe it is an integral part of what we should be doing. I have been involved in Short Term mission teams for over 30 years either taking teams or receiving teams or being part of teams. I can personally testify that these trips have often been a point of personal transformation, and I have had the privilege of seeing this happen in other peoples’ lives. But more than that we see God answering prayer and breaking through not just for us but the countries we go to. After returning from a short-term trip, some go onto a life of mission and do more things than I ever could. Others decide a different course is right but what God did on that trip stays with them.

One of key things I have learnt is to spend time listening to God and recognise his voice. We try to teach teams to do the same, also we as a team put this in practice. Sometimes our plans do not seem to work out. We were going to take a team to Northern India and then send an advance team to another nation. However, the team did not come together and went back to God to ask what was going on. We felt that we needed to take a very small advance team to Northern India and then onto Bangladesh for two weeks in Spring 2025 to spy out the ground. Esther will be leading this with help from Tina. We are looking for at least two others, especially a guy who is willing to spy out the land with the intention of taking a team out in the next 12 months.
